SMWS 1.177 Tutti Frutti Ice Cream Review

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society Today was the first day in a number of weeks when i had a wee dram, i've been suffering from a bit of over working and finding i'm too tired and too hot for whisky, but today that change and i had some The Scotch Malt Whisky Society 1.177 Tutti Frutti Ice Cream

I've had this bottle for a while now, purchased specifically to use as part of my uni group presentation on the Clans and Drams this was given out as samples during our presentation.

It's not often that you find ex-bourbon casks, from this the first distillery bottled by the The Scotch Malt Whisky Society , so when you do they tend to be pretty damn special and this very much is.

Tasting Notes & Details

the initial whiff gives notes of lovely vanilla ice cream and puff candy crumbled over it, then as you stick your nose further into the glass comes some prunes, fresh figs, some melon and hints of papaya and mango, there's a real gentleness to the nose here that really invites you in.

the palate begins with sweet madagascan vanilla then explodes with fresh fruit salad, especially some pineapple bitterness, and fig sweetness, theres a hint of spice which mellows with a few drops of water.

an explosion of fruit salad
