Seriously sweet and fruity with pear drops and fresh royal gala slices touches of fresh Madagascan vanilla and freshly made red onion chutney with a hint of something heathery/mossy and malty in the background
This sample, from my good friend Adrian (@Mynameisgone) from Whisky Chronicle blog, of this The Scotch Malt Whisky Society 4.188 A Ploughman's Picnic i've had for a wee while now and finally getting round to some of these samples, i really wish i'd round to this earlier.
Filled with that really juicy sweetness you get from ex-bourbon expressions from this distillery it's sweet and fruity, with vanilla and malted biscuits, i really have taken to these ex-bourbon variants much more than the typically ex sherried own bottlings from the distillery.
If you are a whisky fan you really should consider joining The Scotch Malt Whisky Society.
