Very light, takes some real sticking your nose into the glass before light overripe bananas and prune juice with hints of treacle toffee and gentle hints of oak spices
This The Glenlivet, The Master Distillers Reserve is a Travel Retail exclusive.
Described by World of Whiskies as "In the entire history of this famous distillery there have only been two Master Distillers of The Glenlivet. Since 2009 Alan Winchester has held the distinguished title. Drawing on his reknowned knowledge and expertise he has created a mature whiskey which evolves from European oak butts, first-fill American barrels and re-fill oak hogsheads. This whisky develops the character of the malt in a truly masterful way."
Regularly very well priced at World of Whiskies currently according to the website it's £43.99 or 2 for £70 which is fantastic value for a 1 litre bottle.
The whisky itself is light with ripe bananas, treacle toffee, prunes and oak, a very nice dram for the money and you could do much worse than pick up one of these when passing through Travel Retail.
