Laphroaig 18 Year Old Review

Laphroaig 18 Year Old Many thanks to David at for the sample of this lovely Laphroaig 18 Year old.

I've always liked Laphroaig Whisky, it's medicinal peaty notes work well with me and i've been a Friend of Laphroaig since January 1998 so i've definitely had a thing about it for a while now.

The peat here is medicinal and light not the smoky bbq that you get with Adbeg or Caol Ila and for me it works brilliantly.

A great whisky and well worth picking up a bottle. You can buy a bottle (or a sample) from Master of Malt

Tasting Notes & Details

The trademark medicinal note is there but no smokyness, the peat is light and very tcp in nature, somethign very sweet and orange/citrus peel like

more of the tcp, wood spice, and again sweet orange peel

long, very long in fact, sea salt and crispy seaweed
