Macallan Edition No.2 Review

Macallan Edition No.2 This Macallan Edition No.2 was launched recently as a limited edition to show the strength of co-creation and mastery when using sherry casks from 4 different bodegas.

The problem for me is that it's got a bit too much rubber coming through, i can come with a whiff of sulphur, or when it's more struck match or eggy, but this is just rubbery and really doesn't work for me at all.

There are tasty elements with notes of dried fruits, tinned fruits and dark chocolate, but the pencil eraser rubber just isn't something i enjoy so this is a real turn off for me.

If you want to try it however you can pick it up from Master of Malt

Thanks to The Macallan for the official sample.

Tasting Notes & Details

Sherry notes for sure dried fruits raisins sultanas and dried apricots, a tang of Lindt dark chocolate with chilli, a hint of something more citrusy, maybe grapefruit peel, some tinned fruit in syrup and for me a hint of pencil eraser

More of that dark chocolate with chilli, with a side of tinned fruit salad in syrup, some tangy orchard fruit peel and that hint of grapefruit peel, but again a hint of rubber

Sweet, fruity, pencil eraser, medium long
