Carn Mor, the range of independent bottlings from Morrison Mackay have seen a number of versions, there's the Strictly limited range, the celebration of the cask range and there was the 20cl bottles from the Vintage collection and thats where this Tomatin 1987 comes from.

Distilled in 1987 and bottled in 2011 at the grand old age of 24 and one of only 960 of these little 200ml bottles these are ideal for trying different distilleries and cask types without breaking the bank as these are really well priced and offer great value for money.

This is a hugely tasty wee dram, very much a Tomatin right from the first sniff, and the ex-bourbon hogshead has added some lovely vanilla to this and brought out some really lovely fruity notes from the spirit. Theres a black jack sweets note, something i'm getting more of recently in ex bourbon Tomatin drams.

This is a great way to try some whiskies and at around £20 odd for these they really aren't expensive. Hunt out some of these in your local specialist or online and give them a try.
