Glenrothes / Glenrothes

Glenrothes 1988 Vintage Review

Glenrothes 1988 The eldest of the whiskies we were sampling tonight and one that i really really need to buy a bottle of, this stuff is fantastic and just suits my personal style of whisky perfectly.

Another cracking Twitter Tasting, this time I was invited in by Amanda from The Whisky Lounge to a Glenrothes Vintages Twitter Tasting.

Other than the Select Reserve I've not had a huge amount of dealings with Glenrothes so i was really looking forward to this.

Tasting Notes & Details

An initial hit of bees wax and furniture polish fall off to banoffee pie, undercooked pastry, summer berries and some light sawdust a little touch of dusty leather book jacket and cranberry fruit tea

Sweet and Spicy, the spicy kick is like clove, cinnamon and demerera sugar topped bramley apples.

a little tannin drying but sweet and appley too
