Ardbeg Day Review

Ardbeg Day Feis Ile 2012 Bottling This week is a HUGE week in the life of any whisky enthusiast as the Islay Festival, Feis Ile, takes over the thoughts. Today is no different as today is Ardbeg Day at the Feis Ile and this is this years bottling.

Unusually this year Ardbeg have decided to award some stores around the globe Ardbeg Embassy status for today only and one of them, luckily for me, was Royal Mile Whiskies which i've frequented since working next to the shop in 1992.

Today was my chance to visit and sample the Ardbeg Day bottling and although I wasnt there early enough to get a bottle, I'll get one directly from the Ardbeg website, I did have a wee sample and a chat with the guys in the shop.

There are 12,000 bottles of this lovely nectar and if you're quick and go to the Arbbeg Shop you might still snap one up.

Tasting Notes & Details

Not as smoky as I was expecting, definite fruity tones from a sherry cask some subtle smoke prunes, grapes oranges and vanilla

vanilla and BBQ'd chorizo sausages with a touch of extra spice, some vanilla and dried fruit
