Professor Cornelius Ampleforth Bathtub Gin Review

Professor Cornelius Ampleforth Bathtub Gin Welcome to Day 11 of #GinMonth as I review Professor Cornelius Ampleforth Bathtub Gin.

This crazy Professor realy does know his alcohol and this is an absolute stormer of a gin, full of juniper and citrus and lots of leafy herby notes it's no wonder this has won a great number of awards.

Go try one, pop on over to Master of Malt and pick one up now.

Thanks to the wonderful folks at Maverick Drinks for the very generous review sample

Tasting Notes & Details

(straight) citrus notes are the first to creep over the edge before the juniper comes out of the glass like a jack in the box and screaming joy at your nose, underlying that is a definite herb like leafiness that draws you in further.

(with tonic) Light and herby, slight thyme notes and a hint of tomato plant leaf with juniper and some bramble in there too

(straight) quite sharp and berry like, almost bitter raspberry/blackcurrant with juniper and herbs bringing up the rear

(with tonic) juniper comes through and the citrus notes leave, theres more raspberry and blackcurrant almost vimto with rosemary and lavendar

(straight) a touch bitter and a touch herby, lovely though

(with tonic) refreshing but bitter, very leafy, tomato plant leaf
